TheAll Star list is out recognizing the Finger Lakes players for the 2006 season. Senior Steven Carlson and senior Dan Mesler both midfielders fromPenn Yan were selected as USLAcrosse All Americans. Senior attackman, Dan McGuffie also from Penn Yan was selected by the Finger Lakes coachesas the 2006 USLacrosse Academic All American.

# 1727  Saturday: Five Out of Section Wins

Six games today were against teams from outside Section Five and the Section Five teams won all but one of the contests. Fairport beat Orchard Park in a big game in Buffalo, Geneva beat Corning West, Penn Yan beat Amherst, HFL beat Hamburg and Victor beat Sweet Home. Canandaigua lost by one goal to Baldwinsville of Section Three.

Penfield, Schroeder and Fairport have now proved the idea that parity is alive and well in the Monroe County Class A teams. In other close games today, Brockport beat Athena/Odyssey by one goal as did Aquinas in their game with McQuaid Jesuit.

There were six games played on Thursday during vacation week. Defense was the name of the game at Penn Yan where the Mustangs scored the game winner in the last minute of the game. Canandaigua won by a goal at Irondequoit and Geneva scored three goals in last quarter to beat McQuaid Jesuit.

The Finger Lakes coaches recently announced the list of all stars for 2005. Canandaigua midfielder Dan Groot and Penn Yan Attackman, Jon Van Houten were named to the All America team. Canandaigua senior attackman, Chris Mulheron was name Academic All American.

Rush-Henrietta (#9) won its first sectional game in many years as they beat host McQuaid Jesuit (#8) 7-5 behind the efforts of senior middie, Joe Malach (2g-2a) and senior attackman, Tyler Allen (2g). In the game that featured strong defensive play by both teams, the Royal Comets took a 6-1 lead into the half. Junior goalie, James Lally recorded 16 saves for R-H.
